Mitchell Walsmith is an Iowa City-based indie artist that is up-and-coming throughout the Iowa scene. Born and raised in Des Moines, he was always surrounded by music as the son of Jason Walsmith, part of Iowa’s mainstay band, The Nadas. After releasing his debut single “3 Minutes” as The Mitchell Walsmith Project, Mitchell has been playing his eclectic mix of rock, punk, alt-country, and folk across Iowa. Listeners are made to stay on their toes, they are just as likely to hear new takes on old folk arrangements during a show as they are to hear a cover of The Strokes, all weaved together by Mitchell’s unique presence, voice, and humor he takes to his performance on the stage.
