TENT CAMPING EDITION
Get prepared with The Hinterland Guide & read more helpful tips below specific to Tent Camping.

Tent Camping at Hinterland is for all who bring their own tent and want to camp in a space free of all cars to be closer to their neighbors! Tent Camping is open-field, unmarked campsites and are first-come, first-serve basis, requiring campers to walk in with their gear.
GETTING HERE
Check-in Times
You may check-in to Tent Camping during these times ONLY: Thursday: 12pm-8pm, Friday-Sunday: 9am-7pm. All campers must exit by Noon on Monday. If you arrive (for the first time) outside of these hours we will be unable to check you in.

If you are able, we encourage you to come on Thursday to set up and you are welcome to camp that night too! Food vendors will be available.
Directions
There is a NEW ROUTE to get to Hinterland this year. Get directions.
Peak Travel Times
Peak travel times are 9am on Friday (for campers), 3pm – 5pm each day and exiting the festival each night.
Gear Drop-off/Pick-up Zone
An optional gear drop-off off zone is available by Gate H: Thursday 12pm-8pm, Friday 9am-4pm. And a gear pick up zone is available: Saturday, Sunday, Monday: 9am-12pm.

You can also opt to park and transport your gear by foot from the parking lot. Either way a wagon is always a helpful tool!
Parking
Parking pass window stickers are required to enter the parking lots and will be shipped out prior to the festival. When you receive your vehicle credential in the mail, peel it and attach to your driver's side front windshield for seamless entry.

If passes are purchased after July 16th or for some reason you do not get them, they will be available for pick at the Box Office. There is temporary parking at the onsite Box Office. If you are local, picking up on Wednesday at Val Air Ballroom is highly recommended.

Tent Parking is sold separately ($50), and is the closest parking lot to Tent Camping. Purchasing parking in advance is highly recommended.

WRISTBANDS & TENT BANDANA
Wristbands
Make sure everyone in your vehicle is wearing their festival wristband upon arriving. If someone needs to get their wristband, head to the Box Office. There is temporary parking at the onsite Box Office. If you are local, picking up on Wednesday at Val Air Ballroom is highly recommended.
Tent Ticket & Bandana
Each Tent Camping ticket is sold per tent and includes one tent bandana, which must be visibly displayed on the outside of your tent at all times.

Your Tent Camping ticket is a digital ticket on the AXS mobile app. Have it ready to be scanned when you arrive in your vehicle in exchange for a bandana you’ll place on a visible part of your tent for the weekend.
GETTING AROUND
The entire festival grounds span about 1.5 miles from end to end, so be prepared to walk. There are designated walking trails between campgrounds and parking lots. Walking along Highway G50 is NOT permitted for safety reasons.

Pedicabs
Pedicab rides provided by Coors Light will be available starting at $15. Flag one down or head to one of the pedicab stations (see map).
Vehicle Re-Entry
Vehicle re-entry IS allowed for Tent Camping Parking, 3-Day General Parking, and Premium Parking during daylight hours.
Leaving the Campgrounds
All campers must exit the campgrounds by Monday at Noon. A gear pick up zone is available by Gate H: Saturday, Sunday, Monday: 9am-12pm.
GOOD TO KNOW

Group Size
Each tent can accommodate up to eight people; groups exceeding this size will need to purchase an additional Tent Camping ticket.
Canopy Tents
Canopy tents are permitted for shade but cannot be used as primary sleeping quarters.
Allowed/Not Allowed in Campgrounds
Avoid hassle by knowing what you can and cannot bring.
Food, Drink, Ice & Water
We’ve got it! Get all the food, drink, ice & water details here. All of this will be located by Gate H (see map).
Restrooms
The nearest porta-potties for Tent Camping are near Gate H. All bathrooms will be serviced daily. If you notice an issue, please contact realperson@hinterlandiowa.com.
Showers

Power Access & Lockers
Power is not provided, please plan accordingly or consider a festival concourse charging locker.
Dollar General
Forgot something? A Dollar General store is located on festival grounds.
CAMP HAPPENINGS
Campfire Stage
The music keeps going after the headliners! The Campfire Stage is located on the north side of Tent Camping. View the set times. Please note the nearest restrooms to the Campfire Stage are by Gate H (see map). There is not a bar by the Campfire Stage, feel free to BYOB.
Silent Disco
Keep the party going at our Silent Disco in Camp Hinterland from 11pm-3am each night of the festival. Arriving early on Thursday to set up camp? We'll have the Silent Disco that night too. It's free for all ticket holders to participate. Located by Gate H (see map).
Yoga
Join us for yoga at Hinterland by the Campfire Stage on Saturday and Sunday at 8am.
Little Engines Presents :: Morning, Fuckers
Swing by the Campfire Stage Saturday morning at 9:30am for readings by Kyle Seibel, Mike Nagel, Avery Gregurich, and Adam Voith.
White Claw Hammock Hang
Come relax in the shaded White Claw Hammock Hang between tent camping and the west entrance. Bring your own hammock or use one of ours. All ticket holders are welcome.
